I reached here yesterday in the noon. Everything in the airport is so strict because or the swine flu outbreak. Staff in the airport is wearing mask and all of us have to fill in health declaration form and to be scan our temperature. I'm very worry in fact but work is still work and I still have to come.
The weather in shanghai is quite good at this time. During my arrival it was round 18C and at night I think I cooler and windy. Its just like the temperature in Genting Highland. My hotel is a nice hotel, Purple Mountain but we have difficulty in checking in due to some miscommunication between the branch and the hotel. But finally everything is settled.
After settle down in the hotel, I went to The Bund (Shanghai Beach in Cantonese). It’s a nice place to walk around but it’s very crowded, maybe it’s Sunday. They have nice architectures along the way but there is some construction going on so it’s so called spoilt the feel there.
After we had ramen in one of the shops along Sezchuan Road (if I'm not mistaken). The beef ramen soup cost RMB10 which I think its reasonable. The taste is reasonable only which mean that you can finish the whole bowl (hokkien called can eat, haha).
After that I realize a good place for food. That’s the place I go next, the Golden Dragon Gate. It’s one of the tourist attractions, old architectures square with plenty stalls selling variety of foods, souvenir, tea leaves etc. I managed to get a key chain for myself at RMB15. The rest of the things are slightly more expensive as it’s a tourist spot. We even had dessert in one of the shops named “Honeymoon Dessert” which can be found in HK. One bowl of Sagoo Mango Pamelo dessert cost me RMB27 and it’s not so cheap anyway.
I think this is more or less my first day touching Shanghai.
For me, I don't really impress or like this place so much maybe this is the perception since young and it did not changed even when I touched down here. My first impression here is the driving skills here are quite good and all of the drivers are skillful until to the extent that I feel scared. Some of them don't even follow the traffic light until we nearly got hit by a bus when we cross the road. The people here talk very loudly (not those in the service industry, I mean the ppl by the road side) and appear to be rude.
Cost of living in Shanghai is quite high I think as things appeared to be more expensive. I had a quick shop in Watson yesterday and here are some of the prices for the items. Pantene 200ml cost RMB19, Munchy Music biscut 110g about RMB10, Watson brand distilled water (big) sold at RMB6. Taxi fare start at RM11 but I'm not sure how much it jumps at every km.
Today is my first working day in Shanghai. Our branch here seems to be good, staff are pleasant and soft spoken and helpful. That’s my point of view for the time being as for now I'm only here for half a day. Hope I’ll have a pleasant stay here…

What's the Benefit of Pretending?
This blog suppose to be posted a few days back but i was unable to do it as my bompany had blocked this website. Since im blogging tonite, so i'll just backdate it....
31-3-09 : It’s my working hour now but really moody, so I decided to update my newly created blog.
Yesterday I got to know something which I feel ridiculous. It’s kind of complicated so I better create a scenario with name.
I went to lunch with S and she accidentally told me that in fact T don’t believe that dunno how to read Chinese. I think all of the started when T doesn’t want to join us in the assignment to Shanghai. Our dept need to import somebody from other dept who know how to read Chinese for this SHG assignment and she was the candidate determined. I dunno what the exact reason is but she decline saying that she’s new and cannot cater for such heavy transactions in SHG. Everything turned out in a mess to get a new candidate who knows how to read Chinese but finally the problem was overcome.
Then yesterday I got to know the truth. S said that T told her I pretend dunno how to read Chinese. She said that when I speak, I can use Chinese proverb which some of it she don’t even know. Then S tried to defend me to say that I know how to speak because I spoke mandarin at home since young. But T said, “No, I really think she pretend dunno Chinese, you know la, penang people…”. I really don't know what she mean by that. Penang people like to pretend or penang people like to tell lie or penang people must know Chinese?
I really feel that there’s a big problem with this gal. She did not think before making any conclusion. What is the advantage for me pretending dunno Chinese? Don’t it be a credit for me if I know Chinese and my boss can easily solve the problem without have to import any staff from other dept if I know Chinese.
I have post this shoutout in facebook and surprisingly I got many supports from my CBM sisters. Thank you very much my friends. CBM gals will always unite eventhough we dunno Chinese. “Nothing to be shame of but something to be proud of”.

Pre-Exam
3rd April, Friday - CCP Exam Eve
Today im on leave, suppose to be my exam leave but for the whole day i do none studying. By the time i wake up its already 1.30pm. By the time i finish washing my clothes, eat my lunch and reach home round 4pm. Of course studying is not the 1st thing immediately after reaching home. So i do my surfing first as now im addicted to FB's game, the Ghost Trappers and the Mousehunt.
Really dunno why, the nearer to the exam i tend to be lazier. Dont feel like doing my revision. But tonite is really the last nite before my exam. I got no choice but to force myself to study. In fact I've read thru the whole manual but i really cannot memorise it. When i do the samples exam questions, I dont really can answer. Then i knew my "read thru" of manual is really insufficient for me to sit for the exam. But just cant force myself of studying anymore. Honestly, i dun really have confident in this exam. But this is the last sitting that the Bank will pay for the exam. If i fail it, i'll have tp bear my own cost for the next sitting.
Tonight dad mum is coming back from their holiday but unfortunately I couldnt go home tonite. I'll be going home tomorrow after my exam. So pls keep my souvenir for me ya, hehe..

Wat Am I doing on The Earth Day...
Today, 28th march 09, earth day...
I've been surfing the net for so many hours and now i feel so tired n slow down. nothg to do while waiting for my dinner time. so i decided to start blogging on a this new site called blodspot.
I've been doing research for my Bali trip in April. really looking forward but april seems to be a very busy month for me. 1st week i have to sit for my exam, then settle my banking stuff, then my Bali trip. so many personal thg to be done exclude my work. In term of work, have to prepare some planning for my next assignment.
Today i really do alot of research on Bali. even though this is not my first visit but i just dun wanna dissapoint my mum n sis since they are joining me this time. i wan everything to turn out smoothly and let them have a wonderful memory for Bali as i does.
Mum and dad is leaving for a holiday today. I feel happy for that. They are not so old but neither young. so i really encouge them to go anywhere they feel like going but main concern of course is the money, hehe... Can really see that they are very happy before this and I hope they enjoy this trip and become even happier than before they went there.
Its 6pm now and i think i must get ready for my dinner. Im going to have hot soup (famous food in sg chua, kajang) tonite. Last but not least, i'll support earth day 60 minutes lights off tonite for the sake of our mother earth and our next generation...
